Es Amunts

Natural Area of ​​Special Interest (ANEI) / Rural Area of ​​Landscape Interest (ARIP). Es Amunts covers almost the entire northern half of the island and includes the municipalities of Sant Antoni de Portamny and Sant Joan de Labritja. Orographically it is the highest area of the island, from where it is possible to appreciate the authentic identity of Ibiza, thanks to the abundance of country houses inhabited by people who still live from the countryside.

Visiting Es Amunts allows you to enjoy the area of Ibiza where the landscape, customs and traditions of the island have been best preserved. Together with the farmers who take care of the fields, there is a great variety of flora and fauna that has allowed this area to also be declared a Rural Area of Landscape Interest (ARIP). The fields, streams, mountains and cliffs are home to multiple endemic plant species and all kinds of birds, which nest on the rocky coast and on the islets. And if you want to discover viewpoints, in Punta Xarraca and Punta Grosa you can find spectacular views.
